After a decade of planning and several postponements and delays, the first-ever fleet of electric cars for the public car- sharing system will have its dry run on the 12th of December, 2017.

There are around 80 cars which will be launched, told BlueSG, the official company which manufactured the said cars.

December 04, Monday, the BlueSG is offering options for the subscription plan, the premium annual membership plan which is only $15/month and weekly plan which has no recurring fee needed.

Interested individuals can register on  www.bluesg.com.sg. They are giving freebies for those 1,000 individuals who verify their subscriptions on or before December 11.

BlueSG is a branch of Bollore Group, a French transportation company, explained, ” In the middle of  completing the app for BlueSG mobile which can easily be downloaded over Google Play and App Stores  starting December 5.”

Users can make Blue reservations through the mobile app and its rental will be according on-time duration rather than the distance.

There are at least a total of 30 BlueSG stations operating over 120 charging spots will be operated islandwide by December. Out of 30, there are 18  operated in public developments like the Bishan, Punggol and Bishan and the remaining 10 operated around the heart of the city. The two others are within commercial and industrial estates at Science Park and one -North.

BlueSG plans to operate at least 1,000 electric cars within sharing fleet and charging stations of at least 2,000  by the year 2020. The system aims to hit the world’s second-biggest electric cars- sharing project succeeded after that of Paris, which operated the maximum of 4,000 cars.
